I personally don't eat bread, the reason is because it has a very nasty bloating effect and doesn't fill me up. In truth, the 3pm slow down in most people may be attributed to a big bread based carb tastic lunch.
There are plenty of schools of thought here, there is the ultra disciplined, don't eat flour or anything with wheat in the title. There is the don't worry as long your calories are kept in check people. The list could go on.
The fact is this, if you wanted to dye your hair white, you would bleach it! So you could draw the same conclusions with white bread.
My advice is to steer clear of white and processed (e.g baguettes, which have the highest GI/calories of a bread product) and try and eat bread once a day (ideally at breakfast)
This may help the 3pm candy bar craving!
